GreyBird's APS MCC Product

Dreaming of a Career as an Airline Captain?
Then an APS MCC course is the natural next step. As a complement to your ATPL(A) and CPL(A) licenses, this course provides the skills and operational understanding that airlines today expect from aspiring pilots. At GreyBird Pilot Academy, we now offer our groundbreaking APS MCC course to external students, a course previously reserved exclusively for our own trainees. The training is conducted in our state-of-the-art Airbus A320 simulator, carefully selected to provide the most realistic and professional experience available on the market. This simulator is market-leading and was chosen from multiple candidates across Europe. Sitting in the simulator is an incredibly realistic experience; many cockpit panels are taken directly from a real Airbus. The visual system uses laser projectors and features extremely realistic graphics.

Our instructors are experienced pilots with backgrounds at companies such as SAS, Emirates, Ryanair, and Norwegian. They hold type ratings on the A380, A320, B737, B787, and many more.

The training program and theoretical material used in the course are developed by GreyBird and are not available elsewhere. The material is created by experienced captains who have had long careers in the training departments of leading Scandinavian airlines. We are very proud that the product we offer at GreyBird is among the absolute best, if not the very best, available in Europe.

The APS MCC course consists of 40 hours of theory and 40 hours of training in our A320 simulator. In other words, you will be fully prepared for your upcoming simulator assessment with a major airline when applying for your first position, such as First Officer.

Stay Focused on the Course, Pricing and Accommodation
When participating in an intensive training program, the best results are achieved by focusing entirely on the course. If you are coming from abroad or another region of Denmark, an optional accommodation package can be purchased. Contact us to learn more.

The APS MCC course itself is competitively priced at just DKK 45,000.

GreyBird Is Just Around the Corner
GreyBird is located at Aarhus Airport, a facility with direct international connections as well as numerous flights to and from Copenhagen Airport (CPH), offering connections worldwide. It is only approximately a 100-meter walk from Aarhus Airport’s terminal to GreyBird’s training facilities.

Airlines such as SAS, Ryanair, Norwegian, Braathens Regional Airlines, and others operate from Aarhus Airport.

Your Program
The entire course is planned by our administration, and you will receive detailed instructions before arriving in Aarhus. If you have purchased the accommodation package, transport will be arranged for you upon arrival.

Requirements for Participation
To attend the course, you must hold a valid CPL(A) and have passed your ATPL(A) theoretical exams. You must provide documentation to verify this in order to participate.

What Is APS MCC?

APS MCC stands for Airline Pilot Standard Multi-Crew Cooperation, and its purpose is not only to train students to cooperate with a Captain or First Officer but also to prepare them for working within an airline, a role that involves much more than sitting in the cockpit with the captain on the left.

Today, APS MCC is considered a standard requirement for newly qualified pilots. The differences between a traditional MCC course and an APS MCC course are significant. The APS MCC course includes nearly three times as many flight hours, and the quality of the theoretical syllabus is unparalleled. While an MCC course trains pilots solely to operate within a multi-crew environment, an APS MCC course is far more comprehensive and in-depth.

The APS MCC course consists of three main components. One is nearly identical to a standard MCC course but even this portion is more detailed. The second component focuses on energy management, how to operate a large, heavy jet with swept wings in various scenarios. The third component consists of scenario-based training. The goal of the APS MCC course is to make students 100% qualified to begin a type rating without requiring further training.

Most airlines prefer applicants to have completed the APS MCC course rather than a traditional MCC course, and some even require it. This is because an APS MCC course directly qualifies the pilot to commence a type rating.

Other Courses

UPRT

Upset Recovery Training is offered as a stand-alone course for students who have graduated but have not taken an UPRT course. The UPRT course is mandatory for you to enter any type rating. The UPRT course consists of one day of theory. Prior to this, you will have had time to prepare thoroughly. In addition, there will be two days of flying: one session of 90 minutes per day.

You will fly in a Bellanca 8KCAB Decathlon. You will, of course, fly with an aerobatic instructor.
